App of the Week: Swaag
Let’s face it—if you got “swag,” you wanna show it off. We know the feeling. That’s why we are super excited about this week’s App of the Week, Swaag.
Swaag is a mobile community that allows users to share and view photos for free! But here’s the hitch—you don’t tag yourself in the pictures, you tag the brands you’re wearing. This way, users can explore the depths of fashion simply via their mobile devices. In addition to the unique tags, Swaag allows for photo filters (such as singe, vivid and soft focus) and other alterations to improve your photos.
Developers Peter Chun, Alex Burgel and Mark Bufalini say Swaag is a platform for one to portray their true self. “Style and fashion [are] a big part of how people express themselves, which is why we’re starting here,” said Chun to Digital Trends. “We have some exciting things we want to do to expand upon this.” And exciting they are. Swaag has a sartorial rating system, ranging from “Sneakerhead” to “Euro Trip,” “Hipster,” to “Rocker” and even “Nerd Alert.” If your photos are ranking highly, challenge others to a who-wore-it-better competition. Otherwise known as a “-VS-“ challenge.
Also new, non-fashion photos are now welcome! Show off your “swaagin’” foods, gadgets, habits, quirks or tastes—virtually anything you wish to share!
“Pictures today are more than friends, family and parties. It’s a culture, lifestyle, expression and art,” said Chun. Swaag is revolutionary. Some say it’s the next logical step from street fashion blogging. Now you can see what is all around you on your phone. Whether or not they’re your friends or from your community, they will be sure to inspire your wardrobe in ways you may not yet be aware of.
Try out Swaag. We’ve already downloaded it! Maybe we will face you in a “-VS-“ challenge someday soon.
