Beauty Item of the Day: Heal Your Pucker with Hurraw! Balm
The seasons can be cruel to our precious pucker: sun exposure, humidity, wind and dry air are a prime recipe for chapped lips in dire need of restoration and TLC. Crafted by some fantastic folks in Montana, each tube is hand-mixed, poured and packed with a whole lot of attention to detail and eco-friendly, sustainable ingredients. They took their time to source fair trade, all natural ingredients and offer it for a mere $3.79 a tube, a price that is as kind on our wallets as the sweet stuff is on our lips. In a day and age where it is not at all uncommon to willingly dish out $18 for a ho-hum tube of gloss, we’re more than willing to stock up on several tubes when the product is this thoughtful and effective!
The black cherry tinted balm adds the perfect amount of sheer color to throw in a clutch and bring to dinner, while fun flavors like root beer, chai spice and chocolate are a throwback to our Lip Smacker love affair circa middle school. The base of these lip-saving beauties is a mixture of fabulous oils (including almond, coconut and olive) that won’t leave your mouth with that terrible just-kissed-a-candle waxy sensation.
The Hurraw! team really thought this one through, housing their perfect elixir in compact oval tubes that won’t slip out of a pocket, to be lost forever in the endless chapstick abyss of our past (sigh). Each balm comes tied up in a cotton tea bag (of course, even the pouch is reusable and made with unbleached US cotton, so start brewing!). We are stocking up on these babies for gifts—our granola glam friends will love it as much as their chic city counterparts.
