Making your bed beautiful could actually improve your sleep and leave you with a happier morning. Here are some bed style ideas that will spark creativity and imagination:
Feather Pretty: Feathers have been trending on the fashion scene, and now this has spread to the interior decorating world, too. Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz, a notable New York interior designer, lives in a feather-inspired home. However, for your bed, having a few feather accents could really bring out the theme. A frilled-end comforter with a printed feather pillow will look great, or you could go all out with the real deal.
Sleep by the Sea: An oceanside-inspired bed is like a getaway in your own bedroom. Start off with a turquoise basic and, to decorate further, add some pattern. Printed bed sheets, such as these, will bring out the theme, color and comfort for your bed. You will shore-ly have a good night’s sleep!
Quilted Comfort: A modern look, this bed looks and feels comfortable, while having a splash of purple to finish it off in style. Find a ruffled circle quilt and pillows of any color for your bed, and it may look something like this. Even though the ruffles may be very simplistic, this quilted comfort look still sets a modern and stylish tone for your bed.
Classic Canopy: This canopy bed in particular is covered with a long and sleek white fabric flowing down with hints of flowers along the sides. To achieve this elegant look, use a comforter with an embroidered edge, and even a simple fabric top will go well with this bed. To create fullness, stack your pillows and consider a padded bed frame, much like the one shown. This will also create a modern/medieval type of bed, and will make you feel like a queen.
Modern Exotic: Finding a unique bed frame comes first, of course, and this one is a perfect start to achieving this style. A few solid colors could be added in the comforter and the pillows, although a spark of exotic pattern will definitely finish it all off. Adding just one printed pillow will give your bed that modern-meets-exotic Arabian nights feel.
Simply Basic: A minimalist style does not have a lot of drama and color, and is perfect for those who want to avoid too much décor activity. A simple sheet set and a bed frame is all that is needed to complete this look. Solid colors, or very minimal patterns, are what marks this style. A minimalist bed is highly dependent on the surroundings, so having a clean and comfy space should be thought out.
Floral Favorite: Florals are probably the most popular bed décor because they’re fun and very pretty—perfect for us girls. Finding floral designs is easy, and they make great bed decorators because all you need is the comforter. No extra pillows, throws or shams are necessary, because the theme is right on the comforter. One of the best places to find floral bedding are big home stores, such as Pottery Barn and Macy’s, as they have a wide selection of floral patterns to choose from.
