Big Brother Is Coming To Canada!
Attention all Big Brother buffs—it has been confirmed that the internationally-famed franchise will be expanding with a wildly entertaining Canadian edition! Shaw Media has teamed up with Insight Productions to launch Endemol’s hugely successful and popular program in Canada, exciting the show’s enormous Canadian following. The series is set to air sometime during the 2012/2013 broadcast season and will be shown exclusively on Slice.
Similar to international Big Brother variations, players live in a house together for about three months, participate in both physical and mental challenges and eventually evict one another until there is a final winner, who leaves with a considerable cash prize. The Big Brother home, traditionally fit with numerous cameras and microphones to ensure ultimate surveillance, will be situated in the lively and diverse city of Toronto. Consistent with the U.S. production format, the program will be broadcasted three times a week, keeping devoted fans interested and excited as the program, and competition, progresses.
Here’s hoping that Big Brother Canada includes the usual production extensions, like airing ‘after dark’ episodes and allowing live streaming availability. Creeping into the lives of contestants all day long may sound a bit bizarre at first but, trust us, it’s oh-so addictive! Different from the typical franchise format, however, Big Brother Canada will have additional social engagement opportunities that fans may not have experienced before, allowing viewers the chance to influence more decisions and goings on in the house. Yes, this truly will be an interactive and gripping experience for both viewers and contestants!
Global has brought the U.S. version of Big Brother to Canada for 13 sensational seasons, which hopefully indicates Big Brother Canada will be a sure success also. Bring on the drama!
