Brand Spotlight: My Beauty
Finding a natural skincare line that’s effective is almost as hard as finding vegetables in the Gobi Desert. While there are a handful of brands that deliver results, there just aren’t enough. A new contender in the never-ending quest for both natural and effective products is My.
My was created by Tessa Yutadco, a former lawyer, who felt the need for a skincare line that combined effective natural botanicals with the latest advances in skin care science. “I wanted to create an honest brand that empowers women and improves lives,” says Yutadco.
Yutadco began researching ingredients that would really make a difference in skincare, looking to her native Philippines for inspiration. She came across the wellness benefits of Pili and Moringa oils, two prominent ingredients in her My Prime Anti-Aging Formulas.
Pili and Moringa oils are restorative oils that contain high concentrations of omega fatty acids and vitamins A, C and E. Both work to restore the youthful look of skin and help to protect skin from environmental damage. In addition, these two oils are extracted through environmentally sustainable practices, something that Yutadco is a proponent of.
In her quest to establish an honest brand, Yutadco has made it a point to create economic and social opportunities for the Filipino women and men who help extract the oils. My has provided the farmers with seedlings, training, stipends and fair-trade practices; a sound platform to give back to the people from her native country.
My Prime includes five products that were tested thoroughly for efficacy. The line includes the Transformative Night Cream, Skin Recovery Formula, Dynamic Lifting Serum, Multi-Purpose Mattifying Moisturizer and Weightless Eye Cream. Of the line, the product that stands out the most is the Skin Recovery Formula. This lightweight formula is clinically proven to brighten and even skin, promote firmness, diminish the appearance of dark spots and wrinkles and soothe inflammation. It includes ingredients like peppermint, pili, moringa, vitamin E, vitamin B, shea and aloe. It isn’t greasy and the effects are noticeable in a matter of weeks.
