Invigorate Fall Locks with Sultra Hair Palette
Sultra’s release of a to-die-for line of Hair Palette products cosmically aligns with the autumn approach. Here at Dual Show, we like to consider ourselves beauty daredevils. From bold blue eyeliner to Emanuel Ungaro-inspired two-tone lipstick to gravity-defying false eyelashes, we try to live by the “try everything once” philosophy. And, while we may not be pulling a Miley anytime soon, hair is another outlet where the risk taking continues. So, when we got wind of Sultra’s Hair Palette, we simply could not resist playing around with the vibrant array of Color Hair Mascaras ($24) and Clip-In Extensions ($9).
What better way to dig into our obsession-du-jour than by finally trying out some colorful celebrity-inspired hairstyles that (until now) have stayed on the screens of our Pinterest boards! Here are some fun looks that Sultra, sass and a little hair styling savvy can help you achieve:
Katy Perry’s Colorful Curls: The reigning Queen of beauty-dare-turned-DO, Katy Perry’s luscious locks are constantly inspiring us to shake up our routine. Sultra makes it super simple: we just clipped in a few extensions in Lapis Blue, Ultra Pink and Royal Violet and blended our hair around the snap. The best part? The extensions are 100% real hair, so there is no need to worry about chintzy plastic mussing up your mane. Heat-resistant, we could even curl our hair to Perry perfection before hitting the town. Feeling frisky? Try an extension in a bright cheetah print to add some meow to the mix.
Brooklyn Decker’s Pop-of-Pink Updo: When she arrived to the premiere of Battleship, Brooklyn’s see-through gown wasn’t the only buzz-worthy bit of her ensemble. Her sexy slept-in updo was messily pinned up in bohemian-chic perfection, setting off the striking streaks of magenta woven throughout. To achieve this look, we teased the crown of our hair, set with hairspray, then began braiding. Twisting each braid haphazardly, we used bobby pins to keep it all in place, then went to hair mascara heaven and colored in random patches with Capri Coral. You could, of course, use the mascara or an extension before crafting your updo, but coloring outside of the lines was too fun to resist! Washing it out the next day was a breeze—if only haircuts could be this noncommittal!
Coco Rocha’s Side Swept Streaks: Supermodel Coco Rocha’s hair is stunning on its own, but add in a pop of color and it’s striking. To replicate, clip in several extensions, curl with a large barrel iron and sweep the whole ‘do over your shoulder. Voilà! Model-worthy tresses in under ten minutes!
Of course, the names of celebrity converts to colorful hair reads like a running list of the coolest trendsetters: Selena Gomez, Rachel McAdams, Lauren Conrad and Kate Bosworth have all taken the color plunge. What are you waiting for?
