Midtown’s Hidden J-Bird

Hidden venues are always a treat for the typical nightlife junkie in New York City. If you are one, then you will enjoy Midtown’s J-Bird.

Nestled under a hidden floorboard of luxury rooftop lounge XVI is one spectacular venue. It is so hidden that the only way to get in is through the back staircase of XVI. J-Bird only has 19 tables to seat 60 guests, which makes it one of the many miniature hidden lounges in the city. There aren’t any bouncers, but there are doormen who play the role of Secret Service. All you have to do is tell them that you want a cocktail, and they will pass the message along to whoever is inside of the lounge. Afterwards, they will lift the rope and let you pass.

Aside from being a hidden venue, J-Bird has an amazing purpose for its existence. Upscale lounges and clubs in the Big Apple usually offer bottle service or have promoters who purchase tables with bottle service for their guests, which is exactly what XVI provides. However, if you prefer having your own cocktail at a bar, then all you have to do is walk down the back staircase to J-Bird. As soon as you go downstairs, you will get an excellent taste of what mixology has to offer. The beverages vary from classic scotch to mixed drinks served inside of a frozen pineapple.

If you are someone who enjoys a drink with a bit of privacy, then J-Bird is the place for you.
