Olivia Palermo’s Stylish Statement Pieces
Lately, I’ve been fawning over faux fur vests, ankle boots, and skinny jeans in unique fabrics. What drew me to Olivia Palermo’s offbeat outfit was the fact that many of my fashion favorites were compiled in the same look. On anyone else, all of these components might not have worked in the same outfit, but Palermo knew how to do it right and get away with it.
Palermo’s look is rebellious when compared to her customary polished uptown style. What I love most about her outfit is that it’s completely mix-matched, but it still works as a whole. Each piece makes a statement and would look fabulous on its own.
The grays, blacks, and hints of dark colors make this the perfect mid-winter outfit.
Breaking It Down
Vests are in style, as long as they’re covered in fur. The good news is that you can find them in prices that won’t break your pocket book. Palermo’s piece is great because it’s both versatile and warm.
This winter, I’ve stayed warm in stripes, and this colorblocked sweater is a great compliment to Palermo’s look. I’m loving the stripped tees sold by Mary Kate and Ashley’s StyleMint. If you aren’t familiar with this line, do yourself a favor and give it a look. I promise you’ll be hooked.
Leather is one material that can look good or bad. Olivia did it right with a daring pair of leather skinnies. Leather leggings are everywhere, so if you’re feeling bold, put on a pair to spice up your everyday outfit.
Complete the look with a great pair of chunky ankle boots, dark nails, and of course, a fabulous blowout.
