Our July 4th Fashion Favorites
Happy birthday, America! What better way to show your American pride today than by celebrating with some fireworks and—you know it’s coming—wearing RED, WHITE and BLUE? Any other day of the year, we’d tsk tsk at kitschy patriotic gear, but today we support your inner Katy Perry who wants nothing more than to
wear a flag sport some good ol’ American spirit. Although we salute our beautiful flag this day, we wouldn’t want to send you out looking like an exact replica. Here are some designs that keep this important symbol classy and stylish.
Jeffrey Campbell Heels
Jeffrey Campbell is known amongst fashionistas for his bold footwear, so it is no surprise that he has stamped the spirited American flag on his platforms! His El Carmen and Lita designs are now available in flag print. Pair these eye-catching kicks with a simple ensemble, load on the accessories and feel like a supermodel. Or Baby Spice in ’96 (which would be our ultimate alter ego on Independence Day).
Runway Dreamz Shorts
Show off your fab legs in a funky pair of Runway Dreamz signature designer jean shorts! The shorts are both high-waisted and high-cut, with fantastic frays and flirty holes. Wear a pair of these super sweet shorts with a crop top or loose tucked-in-at-the-waist tank to complete your look.
Ralph Lauren Bikini Top
Be the center of attention at any Independence Day pool party with this beautiful bikini top. For the bathing suit to have full effect, pair the top with the designer’s pony-embroidered striped red and white bikini bottom.
Chetta B Dress
If you’re attending a more elegant event, the Chetta B dress is the perfect fit. The sleeveless dress features a large collar, neck tie and waist tie. Slip on a pair of white or red pumps and you are good to go.
J Brand Jeans
The always-dependable J Brand company has the perfect pair of denim for a variety of July 4th events! The Mid-Rise Skinny Leg in lipstick works well when sporting the color-blocking trend, or when worn with neutral pieces. These pants can easily take you from day to night and will definitely become one of your favorite staple pieces.
J. Crew Tank
Since this style was extremely popular last season, J. Crew has brought the magnificently tailored Pom Pom Shell shirt back! The detailed white tank dresses up jeans in a subtle and textural way and will look stellar with a pair of red shoes.
Layla Copeland Clutch
Although this will serve its duty as your red, white and blue staple accessory-of-the-day this Fourth, you’ll be sure to get tons of mileage out of this adorable Layla Copeland clutch later. We love the Parisian feeling it evokes and we know it’s something we could add to any impossibly chic (read: simple and classic) outfit!
