Sachin + Babi RTW Fall 2012
Oh, leather lovers! This line is for you! Man, did designer duo Sachin and Babi Ahluwalia rock their show or what? (And by rock, I mean ROCK) This collection touched on every possible edge factor, turning leather (a material that is typically thought of as “rough” and hard to manage) into dresses and skirts with fluid movement. Crocodile detailing popped up in long, cut-away dresses that moved with every step a model took down the runway. Leather pants adopted an über cool and futuristic feel, paired with a fitted, zip-front leather embossed jacket.
As I watched this show for a glimpse of possible fall 2012 trends, I picked up a solid one: Lush gem colors! Red, purple, and green will be a big fall 2012 trend, and that’s not even mentioning the solid foundation of blacks and charcoal I saw throughout the show. Be sure not to forget about high-waisted skirts, because those are going to be very trendy come next fall. Try fitted ones, as well as those with a little movement, because it’s all about the higher waist complete with thick, or wrapped, belts. Seriously, I can’t wait!
