Ten Best Bronzers
Not all of us are beach bunnies, nor can some of us maintain that healthy sun-kissed glow for more than a few days after laying out, which may leave you feeling less than radiant. Luckily, there are some great alternatives out there to help keep you at least looking bronzed, minus the cancer-causing rays.
If you find yourself getting desperate for a goddess-like glow, don’t worry! We’ve rated the best of the best to give you this week’s Ten Best Bronzers.
1. Bronzing Powder by NARS $34
NARS is notorious for their luxurious cosmetics, so it only makes sense that they’re included in our Ten Best list. Their bronzer is a diffused powder, which makes it unlike most bronzing powders, as it allows the user to get an all-over warmth during application. The finely milled powder offers not only a sun-kissed look, but also a smooth and even complexion. This particular product comes in three shades: Laguna (a basic brown with a golden shimmer), Irrésistiblement (the desert glow) and Casino (a diffused brown bronzer with a hint of golden shimmer).
When it comes to natural-looking bronzer, Bobbi Brown certainly delivers with her matte bronzing powder. Matte cosmetics do a great job with keeping the skin from getting oily and having an unnatural shine. That being said, we love the fact that this powder is light enough to wear year-round and comes in seven shades for all skin tones.
We can’t help but point out how ironic it is for this particular bronzing powder to come from Benefit because, with this steal of a deal, you most definitely reap the benefits of not only one but two cosmetics. A decent bronzer alone will cost you up to $35, but with this product you get a two-in-one combo where you can highlight and contour in one sweep. If we had a rating system, this duo would receive a perfect ten.
There are plenty of things that can drive a girl up the wall, and pale skin with visible signs of aging are just two of them. With this bronzer, you’ll be able to check both problems off your list. What we love most about Halo is its revolutionary hydrating formula that hydrates skin while giving a natural glow to the complexion. Plus, it’s a one size fits all, as this Smashbox product is known as a universal true bronzer—allowing it to perfectly match any skin complexion.
If you like getting your money’s worth and buying things in double packs, you’re going to love the Bronzing Duo from Clarins. Just like Benefit, you receive two shades with an option of three different combinations, which include light, medium and dark. Clarins is an amazing beauty brand, so of course we didn’t expect anything less. Not only do we get a bronzer to give us a radiant glow, but we get a little SPF to protect against damaging UVA and UVB rays and a guard against pollution.
Some great bronzers also come in liquid form. If you’re into self tanning, we recommend the Flash Bronzer from Lancôme. This easy-application cosmetic will leave you with a beautiful glow that will last up to five days, making this a great substitute when you don’t have your bronzing powder on hand. The oil-free formula is enriched with Vitamin E, allowing your skin to stay moisturized while fighting premature signs of aging.
7. Sublime Bronze by L’Oreal Varying Price Points
L’Oreal is definitely known for their Sublime Bronze line. These self tanners are available in the form of gels, mists and lotions. What’s not to love? L’Oreal knows that one variation doesn’t always fit all and gives us a number of products and applications to choose from to achieve that perfect glow.
What’s better than getting five bronzers for under $50? Not much, at least when it comes to skincare. Little else is more important than a flawless application, and with this triple-milled fine powder from Erno Laszlo you’ll get just that. Five various hues give you amazing glowing coverage that looks like you’ve been bathing in the sun all day. Carry this compact wherever you go and keep a natural summer look the whole year through.
What we love most about True Bronze is its easy blending powder that allows you to build up to your desired bronzing level. The simple carrying case with brush makes it great for on-the-go application. This product is available in three sun-geared shades, which include Sunblushed, Sunkissed and Sunswept.
10. Bronzing Powder by MAC $23
Last but not least, MAC makes our list with its own Bronzing Powder available in four illustrious shades. Unlike the other bronzers on our Ten Best, this powder is intended to enhance skin tone as well as give more glow to an already established tan. Sheer and lightweight, this MAC bronzer is formulated to condition your skin while allowing a smooth application.
Whether you just don’t have the time to lay out on the beach, or can’t hang onto your radiant glow from a day out in the sun, here are ten alternatives to a healthy complexion. Remember: no matter how sheer they are, not all bronzers will look right on your skin tone, so be sure to shop around until you find your perfect shade.
